TT: After Things Change pt.7

   "Alright.. so le'mme get this straight... Slade is after Arella now?" Beast Boy gasped. "But why do we need to get Jericho! Everyone knows I can't read sign language."


   "This could be another Slade robot." Robin clenched his fists. "But if it means alot to you Raven - for your mother to be protected - I'll go give Jericho a call right now." Robin walked off, to get the phone and call Titan's East.


   "Err, how's Robin supposed to talk to Jericho over the phone when he can't speak?" Beat Boy asked confusingly.


   "He'll find a way." Cyrborg snickered as Starfire floated eagerly over the kitchen counter, preparing a tamaranian meal.


   Terra sighed and sat on the couch beside Beast Boy. "I wonder how it feels..." She continued. "To have someone else control your nerves? What happens to me? Do I - do I just.. loose conciousness or what...?" The blonde asked the odd green beast that sat beside her.


   "Uhh.. I - uh... I don't know..." Beast Boy hesitated. "I think Rae's the closest to Jericho out of all of us, so maybe she knows. But it's just a guess."


   Terra huffed and lay her head back on the end of the couch. Closing her eyes, she relaxed a little. It was so confusing to her. She was so confident in this plan, but not she felt jittery and nervous. Beast Boy noticed her knee shaking.


   "Something's bothering you." Beast Boy began as he put a hand on her knee. "I can feel it." He smiled.


   "I, I don't know what's bothering me. Maybe I'm just a little nervous to encounter Slade. I don't want to see that creep again." She shivered. "I don't want him.. to lure me in to anything. I was so.. so.. stupid for him to just catch me like a wisp when I first met him. He convinced me.. I thought I could trust him.. I thought --"


   "Hey." Beast Boy said. "Don't put this on yourself. You're stronger, and more mature than back then. And plus, if you need a lecture on maturity, give Rae a call." He spit his tongue out, smiling.


   "Thanks, BB." Terra smiled. "You've always been my best friend. You - out of all people - seem to understand me the most. I wonder, why is that?"


   "I honestly don't know." He sighed. "Maybe... because I like you, and I hope... you like me too?"


   With the conversation starting like this, Cyborg got off the couch to give them some privacy while Raven went back to her room. Starfire was helping Robin, so the room was theirs.


   Terra looked at him with her big blue eyes. "Beast Boy." She said, her voice a monotone. "I thought we agreed you didn't want us to get into this. You said I hurt you too much, remember?"


   "Well..." He continued. "Now, I trust you enough. You seem different since, well, before you went off with Slade."


   Terra laughed. "That's because I became more secure, and more cautious of what I get into. I think this new attitude started when I fought back from Slade's grasp. Right before... right before the volcano triggered."


   Beast Boy looked down.


   "Hey! But I'm still the same old Terra, right?" She said, punching his shoulder gently.


   "I know you are." Beast Boy smiled. "I'm just wondering... I'm pretty sure Raven has some feeling for me." He continued, his voice now a whisper. "I'm just thinking, what will become of her when we're... together."


   "I don't know." Terra sighed. "I do feel kind of sad for her. We were friends before any of the Slade things happened. But - honestly - I don't know if she still trusts me or not. If she thinks I'm gonna suddenly turn evil, y'know?"


   "You won't." The changeling said, putting an arm around her. "Not with me to guard you." With that, Beast Boy turned into a large green wolf, standing tall above Terra, making her laugh. Then he turned into a small dog, and Terra hugged cuddled the little guy.



   "Titans." Robin's voice surprised the two. "I've got a hold of Jericho. He'll be coming shortly."


   Beast Boy got off Terra's lap and turned back into human form, sitting beside her like before.


   "Oh, glorious! It is much fascinating to have another Titan come visit us! Friend Raven? You do not wish to share the joy?" Starfire asked.


   Raven just looked at her, leaning against the wall. "Yep, spread the joy." She said sarcastically.


   "Great! I shall go prepare the Glorf'nog!" The alien said, hovering over the kitchen once more.
